This vitality stems from Zhengzhou's resolute commitment to Yellow River conservation. In recent years, Zhengzhou has comprehensively implemented the major national strategy for ecological conservation and high-quality development in the Yellow River Basin. The city has integrated the management of mountains, waters, forests, farmlands, lakes, grasslands, and deserts. Moreover, it has fully enforced the River Chief and Lake Chief water-resource management systems, carried out regular riverway renovations, and closely integrated ecological restoration with the construction of a "Happy Yellow River". The results are evident: sections of the Yellow River (in Huiji District) and the Luo River (in Gongyi City's urban area) have successively been recognized as a "Provincial Flagship River for Beauty and Wellbeing". A serene, clear ecological corridor is now nourishing Central China.

Beauty is the essence of the Yellow River, and green remains the most distinctive colour in the development of Zhengzhou. Looking outward, greenery permeates the entire city, within easy reach. In recent years, Zhengzhou has pursued the "Three Greens" strategy, which involves expanding, revitalizing, and protecting green spaces, in coordination with the "Four Reservoirs" strategy. Additionally, the city has deepened the implementation of the Forest Chief resource management system, strengthening management of forest and grassland resources, and fortifying green ecological screens. To date, Zhengzhou has developed over 1,200 parks and gardens, earning its title as the "City of a Thousand Parks", with park green space reaching 15.3 square meters per person. Over Songshan Mountain's summits and along the Yellow River's banks, in both urban centers and rural areas, the luxuriant foliage demonstrates why it is known as the "Green City".

美丽是黄河的幸福底色，绿色始终是郑州最鲜明的发展底色。向外看，满城绿意触手可及。近年来，郑州市坚持扩绿、兴绿、护绿“三绿”并举，“四库”联动，全面推深做实林长制，加强林草资源管理，筑牢绿色生态屏障。截至目前，全市已建成各类公园游园1200个，成为“千园之城”，人均公园绿地面积15.3平方米。从嵩山之巅到黄河之滨，从城市深处到乡村田野，处处绿意葱葱演绎着何以“绿城”。

Looking inward, Zhengzhou is making steady progress along its low-carbon transformation path. The city continues to step up pollution prevention and control and accelerate the transition to green, low-carbon development, resulting in more frequent blue skies and white clouds. After advancing the "Clear Waters Battle", the city has fully connected its circular ecological water system project, with polluted rural bodies of water being dynamically eliminated from Zhengzhou, so that clean water can continuously nourish both urban and rural areas. Embracing green, low-carbon living, Zhengzhou has established 741 "waste-free cells" including "Waste-Free Malls" and "Waste-Free Communities", integrating environmental protection into daily life. Whether in the air we breathe, the water we use, factory workshops, or family living spaces, green is now integral to Zhengzhou's development plan.

向内察，低碳转型步履坚实。郑州市持续深化污染防治攻坚，加速绿色低碳转型，蓝天白云更常见。打好碧水保卫战，环城生态水系循环工程全线贯通，全市农村黑臭水体保持“动态清零”，源源清水润城乡。践行绿色低碳生活，全市建成“无废商场”“无废社区”等“无废细胞”741个，绿色环保入日常。从空气到水，从工厂车间到百姓家中，绿色已融入郑州的发展基因。

Clear waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets, and a sound ecological environment is the most inclusive form of public welfare. The main canal of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project's central route traverses the city. Green tree belts line both banks of the canal, delivering a continuous flow of clear water to nourish Zhengzhou, while the city safeguards the water's original purity. In Beilonghu, rippling blue waters host blooming lotus flowers. Pairs of Mute Swan parents glide with their cygnets born this year, foraging peacefully. The swans add beauty and life to Zhengzhou, and the city protects their habitat within its borders.
